Gypsum board production lines are sophisticated industrial setups designed for the efficient manufacturing of gypsum panels, commonly known as drywall or plasterboard. These production processes involve several stages beginning with raw material preparation and culminating in the formation and finishing of the final product.

The process starts with the quarrying and crushing of gypsum rock into particles smaller than 30 millimeters. The crushed gypsum is then milled to a fine powder consistency suitable for panel production. Materials such as natural gypsum, flue-gas desulfurization gypsum, phosphogypsum, citric acid gypsum, and fluorgypsum can all be utilized as raw materials depending on availability and environmental considerations.

Subsequently, the calcined gypsum is mixed with additives such as starch, foam agents, and sometimes recycled paper fibers. This mixture is then spread evenly onto layers of high-strength kraft paper, which serves as both a reinforcement and a moisture barrier. This stage is particularly challenging due to potential issues like web breaks and paper face defects, especially when using old corrugated containers (OCC) as paper sources.

In the forming section of the production line, the gypsum slurry between the two paper liners is sandwiched and pressed to form continuous boards. The formed boards then proceed through a drying kiln to remove excess moisture, after which they are cut to standard lengths and trimmed to size.

Lastly, the finished gypsum boards undergo quality control checks before being packaged and prepared for shipment. Modern, fully automated gypsum board production lines ensure consistent quality, high efficiency, and minimized waste throughout the entire manufacturing process.
